Like Most Sports
there isn’t a one-size-fits-all method to golf instruction.
“Each player is built differently and has a unique skillset. We could be the same height and have the same ability, but our swings are still going to be quite different because our minds think differently.
That’s a large part of what I do as a golf instructor – uncover each player’s individual strengths and challenges and personalize their coaching to yield the best possible results. All the while, enjoying the game in the process, because that’s really what it’s all about.”

About Jay Jr.
The love of golf is deep-rooted for the Greenville, SC native. Son of a long-time PGA Tour and PGA Tour Champions golfer, Jay Sr., the game of golf has undeniably played a significant role in Jay Jr.’s life. Golf has shaped the person he is and the career he’s built as an instructor. Today, Jay proudly serves as the Head of Instruction and Coaching at Haas Family Golf.
During his teenage and young adult years, he was a key member of the Riverside High School Golf Team, followed by a collegiate golf career at Augusta State University. After college, Jay played professionally for eight years before assuming the role of PGA Tour Caddie from 2011-2018 and Champions Tour Caddie of 2016-2018. A highlight of Jay’s Caddie career was on the bag for his brother, Bill, when he clinched the 2011 FedEx Cup title.
Family FIrst
In 2019 he joined his father, brother and uncle in the venture to purchase, rebrand and improve one of Greenville’s most loved practice facilities, now Haas Family Golf, where he spends much of his time coaching players of all ages and skillsets. Jay is TrackMan Certified and believes that incorporating technology into each lesson helps accelerate a golfer’s development.
Jay resides in Greenville with his wife, Carolyn, and their three children – Pruitt, Tallulah and Jay III – along with their adored Goldendoodle, Pockets, and several chickens.
